West 30th Street consists of six helipads spanning two acres, passenger and pilot lounge area, a fuel deck, and parking area.
An average of 14,127 aircraft land at the West 30th Street Heliport every year, or 39 per day. By comparison, the Downtown Manhattan Heliport handles an average of 64,302 landings annually.
Tourism flights do not take off or land at West 30th Street.
The heliport is used for emergency response and military aircraft to quickly access the West Side of Manhattan.
